BIO

 

LaKesha B. Shahid graduated from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 2005 after obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in English from University of Alabama-Birmingham in 1999.  In law school, LaKesha was a member of Black Law Students Association and Women’s Law Association.  Additionally, LaKesha received the Best Paper Awards for Professional Responsibility and Current Topics in Criminal Law.  LaKesha practices primarily in the areas of personal injury, employment discrimination, family law and estate planning.  LaKesha has had the opportunity to serve as Temporary Judge overseeing involuntary commitment hearings. LaKesha is a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association, American Bar Association, National Bar Association.  LaKesha is also a member of the Capital City Bar Association where she serves in the capacity of Recording Secretary and Alabama Lawyers Associations where she serves as the Treasurer.

LaKesha is also involved through social and community activities, such as serving as the National Legal Advisor for the National Order of Eastern Star, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and The Links.

Vania L. Hosea

BIO

 

Vania L. Hosea graduated from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 2005 after receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree magna cum laude from Tuskegee University in 2001.  In law school, Vania was a member of the Trial Competition Team, a recipient of the Alabama Circuit Judges’ and the Alabama Circuit Judges’ and the Alabama Trial Lawyers Association Scholarship.  While in law school, Vania received the Best Paper Award for Legal Research and Writing I.  After graduation, she served as the Director of Admissions at the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law.  Vania primarily practices in the areas of Social Security, personal injury, workers’ compensation, family law and juvenile law.  Vania is a member of Montgomery County Bar Association, American Bar Association, Alabama Lawyers Association and Capital City Bar Association where she serves as President.

 

Vania  is involved in community and social activities, such as serving on the Community Council Board of the United Way and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
